Thomas Earl Clay, Sr., 70, of Akron, passed away July 29, 2018. Tom was born in Deep Water, West Virginia on January 18, 1948 to the late Julia and Travis Clay. Tom was an Army veteran and had served during Vietnam and he retired from Sonoco Products with 46 years of employment. He was very active with the Boy Scouts, little league baseball and was a member of Arlington Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Travis Clay, Jr.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Phyllis Clay; children, Thomas (Jina) Clay, Jr., Julia Clay and Wayne Clay; siblings, Franklin, Betty Sayre, Martha Hart, Marlene (Larry) Stanley and Jim; and 3 grandsons, Michael, Angelo III and Brian Minella.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 10-11 am at Arlington Church of the Nazarene, 1057 Triplett Blvd, Akron, where funeral services will be held beginning at 11 am with Pastor Darrell Frazier officiating. He will be laid to rest at Grandview Memorial Park.
