Thomas W. Coleman

Thomas Woodrow Coleman went home to be with the Lord on March 16, 2022, at the age of 62. Tom was born April 15, 1959 in Akron, Ohio to an extraordinary family of two loving parents and five siblings: Ray, Don, Carol, John, and Arlene (who preceded him in death).


Owner and operator of T.K. Tire for over 30 years, Tom built a thriving and successful business from the ground up. His business was one of the most important things in his life because he loved helping people and serving the community. When he took time for himself, he enjoyed traveling with his wife. He also loved classic cars, motorcycles, and hunting. Above all, he loved his family and he always put them before himself. During his life, he loved practical jokes, the occasional "free tires tomorrow", and making people laugh. He was generous beyond measure. To know him was to love him.


Tom was preceded in death by his father Raymond. He is survived by his wife Sandy, mother Kathleen, three daughters Katie (Tim,) Michelle (Mick,) Shawna (Zac,) and five grandchildren Travis, Maddie, Lucy, Summer, and Ashlyn.


All are welcome to attend the calling hours at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305, on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00PM. The funeral is Friday, March 25, 2022 at 12:00PM followed by a procession to Hillside Memorial Park.


Tom lived his life with kindness and generosity. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, and will forever be remembered. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Akron FOP Lodge 7 or Springfield Township law enforcement in Tom Coleman's name.
