Tom Dingess
Tom Dingess passed away in the peaceful and quiet way in which he lived his life on December 14, 2007. He was born in Chapmanville, West Virginia on December 7, 1933 and lived in West Virginia until 1958 when he moved to Akron. He worked at Akron Plating for 32 years, retiring in 1990. He could always be found watching a ball game or enjoying the outdoors. Tom was preceded in death by parents, Rebecca "Birdie" (Workman) and James Turner Dingess; sisters, Liz Dingess, Lou Boughman; and brother, Leonard Dingess. He will be forever missed by daughters, Tammy Dingess of Barberton, Beckie (Donny) Vogel of Millstadt, Illinois, Ida Dingess of Barberton, Karen (Mark) McArthur of Deerfield and Debbie Dingess of Cuyahoga Falls; son, John Titus of Camden, West Virginia; sisters, Madeline Booth and Mildred Thacher of Branchland, West Virginia, Ida (Joe) Stinson of Clinton, Betty (Jimmy) Newman of Tallmadge, Joy (Fred) Stinson of Bidwell, Ohio; brother, Gene (Rachel) Dingess of Chapmanville, West Virginia; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Calling hours will be Monday from 3 - 6 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Edinburg Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Michelle Santoro.
