Thomas C. Grove

Thomas C. Grove "Tom" of Lake Milton, passed away January 16, 2017, at Akron General Hospital surrounded by his family. Tom was born in Los Angeles California on January 2, 1955 and was employed by Stow-Munroe Falls Schools Transportation Department.

Tom was an avid dirt track racing fan and spent many of his early years at Wayne County Speedway assisting the speedway with his "Push Buggy". In his later years, you would always find Tom at Deerfield Raceway in Deerfield, Ohio running their Wrecker and enjoying the many divisions of racing and time with friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Martha (Bayer) Grove. He is survived by his sisters, Julie Grove Miller (Ben) of San Diego, California, Susan Marchion (Phillip) of Lake Milton, Nephews Matt Marchion (Brandi) of Mineral Ridge and Christopher Marchion of Troy Michigan.

There are no words to appropriately express to our sincere thanks to Al Roth for all his support, and countless hours spent at Tom's bedside, as well as Paul Miller for his many visits and to his work family and fellow racers whose friendship Tom valued so much.

Special thanks to the doctors and staff at Akron General who went above and beyond with their sincere compassion, care and support for Tom and our family. At Tom's request there will be no service. A memorial tribute will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Deerfield Raceway 11965 King Church, Uniontown, OH 44685.
