Thomas H. "Thom" Lewis, 51, passed away March 20, 2016. He was born in Akron, OH on May 15, 1964 to Thomas C. (Kay) Lewis and Barbara S. (Jake) Marucci. On January 29, 1990 he married the love of his life, Lottie Gottschall. He was known by all to go out of his way to help anyone in need and prided his ability to fix anything, even if he had to create his own parts. Thom always put other people's needs ahead of his own. He was a devoted husband, and a very caring father and grandpa. A talented musician who loved to play well into the night, not caring who he kept awake. For 25 years, Thom was employed at YRC and a proud member of Teamsters Local 24.
Thom is preceded in death by daughter, Danielle; sister, Kimberly "Sissy"; and brother, Michael Marucci.
In addition to his wife and parents, Thom is survived by sons, Steven (Brandi), Thomas (Ashley); and daughter, Kimberly. He loved being a grandpa to 7 grandkids, Trent, Cameron, Madyson, Noah, Elijah, Liliana, and Isabella. Thom also is survived by sisters, April (Robert), Kelly; brothers, Ray, Richard (Patty), Patrick, and Gregory; his fur babies Charlie, Lucy and Pitty; childhood friends, Robert Dixon and Steven Petty; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family will be receiving visitors for a reminiscing on Tuesday, March 29 at 5:30 pm at Teamsters Local 24, 2380 Romig Rd., Akron. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Northeast Ohio Breast Cancer Fund.
