Thomas Raymond Josephites, age 72, of Mantua passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. He was born in Cleveland on June 26, 1948, the son of Veto Josephites and Helen (Altabas) Ray and was later raised by Helen and Steve Ray.
In 1980, he married the love of his life, Vicki Shumaker, and were inseparable until her death in 2009. Tom is survived by his daughter, Renee (Mike) Chapple and his sisters, Donna (Don) Mansfield, Kathy (Chris) Fedor and Barbara (Lee) Drowlette. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Nancy (Brian) Harrington, Rob Suchan, Don Mansfield, Jennifer (Quincy) Finley, Chris (Christine) Josephites, John Fedor, Steve (Laura) Drowlette, Matt (Sara) Drowlette and Sarah (Andy) Liston. He also leaves behind many grand-nieces and nephews.
Tom was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a dedicated uncle who shared his passions for shooting, casino gambling and sports with his family. Tom enjoyed attending Cleveland Brown football games and watching golf on TV. He volunteered as marshal for several years at the annual Firestone golf tournament. Tom loved to be with family and friends and was always up for a picnic or gathering of friends.
Per Tom's wishes, there will be no formal services. Tom will be cremated and laid to rest with his beloved wife at Hillman cemetery in Michigan. Friends and families are invited to attend a memorial luncheon at Tom's house at 4777 Skinner Rd, Mantua, on Sunday, May 16, from noon to 5pm.
