Thomas J. "Bones" Labbe passed away January 4, 2017 at age 75.
A graduate of Hoban High School, he retired from the City of Akron where he worked in the Environmental Health Division as a Registered Sanitarian (II)/Registered Environmental Specialist/Certified Food Safety Professional. After retiring he continued to work for Akron Auto Auction until the time of his death.
Prior to his work with the city, he worked at The Western Reserve Telephone Company in California, The Western Reserve Telephone Company in Hudson OH, Sons of Herman Club and Pewter Mug, both in Akron OH.
He was an avid dancer, a car enthusiast and enjoyed fishing and yard work. He belonged to the Loyal Order of Moose Club (Barberton), Sons of Herman Club (Akron), Canton Eagles Club, and was a supporter of the VFW and the FOP (Akron).
Tom is preceded in death by his parents Vincent Paul and Josephine "Coo" (Pappano) Labbe. He is survived by daughters Victoria and Denise, son Vincent and grandson Nicholas; his sister Carole Leifer (Frank), nephew Steve, nieces Tammy and Julie and their children; beloved companion, Bernadine "Bennie" Rock and many other family members and friends.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 4-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron with a memorial service to begin at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
