Thomas S. Cirjak, Jr.
Thomas S. Cirjak, Jr., 83, passed away July 13, 2011. He was born in Akron on August 21, 1927 to the late Thomas and Mary Cirjak. Tom proudly served in the U.S. Navy and earned the American Area Ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon with one star, and the World War II Victory Ribbon. Tom was a member of the Operating Engineers Union for 41 years and he retired from the Frank Lucco Company after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Sons of Herman and the Jenota Club. He loved the game of golf. Tom was preceded in death by his son, Gary Cirjak; brother, Louis Cirjak; and sister, Veronica Ruggiero. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 41 years, Phyllis; children, John "Jack" (Hanna) Cirjak, Nancy (Larry) Stuhldreher, Susan (Jim) Lock, and Kathy (Jerry) Everwine; brothers, Pete (Shirley) Cirjak and Joe (Margaret) Cirjak; sister, Anne Guess; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Lyle, Laura (Tommy) Miller, and Diane Pickering; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jacob Lyle, and Wesley Pickering. Visitation will be Monday, July 18th from 11-1 followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service with Chaplain Jim Walter of Crossroads Hospice officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post 281.
