Thomas (Tom) Frank Kohut, 70, of Cuyahoga Falls passed away on December 13, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born in Akron, Ohio and was a Cuyahoga Falls resident for the past 43 years. He worked in the construction industry for most of his life, first with his father at Kohut Construction Company; then as co-owner of Independent Glass Block with his identical twin brother, Tim, for 25 years; then for the City of Munroe Falls Police Department part-time for 15 years; and he owned and operated Lucky Dog Pet Walking Service for 10 years.
Tom was a 1971 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. He attended the Ohio State University for one year where he studied accounting and physical education. He then returned to the area to attend University of Akron for certifications in blueprint reading and mechanical drawing in 1979 and computer software in 1987. He graduated from the Munroe Falls Police Academy in 1993.
Tom loved his family, football, walking dogs and spent many nights at the bowling alley. He was an innovator at heart who created fun games and double dare-themed obstacle courses for his children and grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; Gilbert J. Kohut and Dorothy E. (Bridson).
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jean A. (Cheeseman) Kohut. Also left to cherish his memory are brothers; Timothy (Val) J. Kohut of North Hill and David G. Kohut of Texas, sister; Dianne Distel of Cuyahoga Falls. He will be sadly missed by his three children; Eric (Julie) Kohut of Uniontown, Jason (Tammy) Kohut of Ellet, and Kristen (John) DeLuca of Olmsted Township, seven grandchildren; Devin, Riley, Landry, Nicholas, Lacey, Mallory and Caden; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. Family and friends may attend a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 2-5:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, OH 44305.
