Tommie E. Dennis Iii

With our deepest sorrow, we announce that Tommie E. Dennis III, 51, our most beloved dad, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

Tommie will be missed every day by his beloved and cherished daughters, Kendra Nicole and Katrina Renee Dennis; former wife and friend, Bonnie; brother, Jerry (Mary) Dennis; sisters, Terry Dennis Waka, Donna (Chris) Isaiah, Lynn (Robert) Vandiver, and Lisa Dennis; many dear nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. As well as a tremendous amount of friends, especially his best friend, Christopher (Kelly) Brooks.

Tommie was born in Akron, Ohio on March 9, 1972 to the late Tommie and Bertha Dennis (nee West).
A lifelong resident of Akron, Tommie graduated from East High School in 1990. Following high school, Tommie worked various jobs, but spent twenty plus years and had a very special relationship with his work family at Smithers World Headquarters here in Akron.

Tommie enjoyed spending free time with his daughters, friends, and family or just "chillin" watching old movies, documentaries, most sports, and listening to all kinds of music. But Tommie's favorite hobby was football; in particular being a voracious Pittsburgh Steelers Fan with a game-day hand clap that could be heard down the street. "Football Sundays" won't be the same and no hand clap can fill that void.
Tommie made friends wherever he went and will always be remembered for his big, pearly white, beautiful smile and his infectious laugh.

In addition to his parents, Tommie was preceded in death by his infant twin brother, Timothy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 4-7 followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Please feel free to wear your favorite team jersey or sports apparel in honor of Tommie.
