Tonya Lynn Meyer

Tonya Lynn Meyer, born June 16, 1972, in Akron, was the first and only daughter of Douglas C. Meyer and Connie J. Armsey. She attended Kenmore High School and Akron University, and always looked to further her education and better her life. Tonya was known by many names over the years: Monkey Stamo and Monk as a child, as Grandma to the grandchildren of her long-time partner Michael Workman; and Aunt Nina by her many nieces and nephews. For her mother, she was the first of many shining stars, the one who made her a mom. Tonya leaves behind her siblings Rick, Doug, Chad, Erin, Christi, Morgan and Chelsea to watch over her family. There are so many loved ones she cared for over the years, too many to list. Her mother and stepfather, Connie and Tom Armsey, and father and stepmother, Doug and Shelly Meyer, wish to receive all family and friends at Newcomer Funeral Home to hear all the wonderful stories about Tonya. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20th from 11-1 followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service at Newcomer Funeral Home.
