Tonya S. Wassam Broadbent, 36, of Akron passed away September 15, 2007 after a long hard battle with diabetes. Tonya was a member at St. Paul's Catholic Church and was very active in activities associated with the church. She was a 1989 graduate of Garfield High School. She is preceded in death by her sister Laura Ashbaugh and grandmother Lois Wassam. She is survived by her daughter Sara Kathleen Broadbent; parents Floyd and Sandy Wassam Jr.; biological mother Susan Miksch; brothers Richard Wassam, Matthew Wassam, Larry Ashbaugh and Ralph Speck, Jr; very special extended family members David, Thomas, Jean, Thomas Jr. and Michael Broadbent along with many other family and friends and Shadow. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday September 19, 2007 at St Paul's Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St, Akron with Fr. Ralph Thomas officiating. Family and Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 - 9 PM at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N Canton Rd Akron. Interment will be at Rosehill Burial Park.
