Tonyia (Rusty) L. Witchey
Tonyia (Rusty) L. Witchey went home to the Lord on March 23, 2005 in her sleep with no pain, holding the hand of her husband of 53 years. She left this life filled with joy and anticipation, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Rusty was born in Elkins, WV to Pat and Claude Kesling, graduated from Elkins High in 1949, and retired from Roadway Express after 25 years of service after being diagnosed with M/S. She refused to let her M/S hold her back and traveled the US and Canada extensively and enjoyed many other activities. She was a member of the Goodyear Heights Baptist Church, Billow Chapter of the Eastern Star, Cuyahoga Falls Shrine Club and also enjoyed Tuesday M/S craft class. She will be missed by her loving husband, William (Bill); son, Jeff; daughter, Lorie; grandchildren, Roxanne, Ian, and Elliott; great-granddaughter, Raven; brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Delores Kesling; brother, Danny Kesling; sister, Betty Kesling; brother-in-law, Donald Witchey; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruth and Ed Helsel; and countless friends she has met along her road in life. You could always count on Rusty for a smile and a positive outlook on life. She touched every person she met with her kind and gentle way. When you wake up there will be no more wheelchairs, no more pain or other handicaps, you will stand and embrace all of those that have gone before you and rejoice in the loving arms of our Lord. Family and friends may call TODAY from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Goodyear Heights Baptist Church, 1767 Goodyear Blvd., with Rev. John E. Phillips officiating, assisted by Lay Minister Ed Witchey. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
