Troy Anthony Lucas Jr.

Troy A. Lucas Jr.,38, passed away on April 25, 2023. He was born on July 10, 1984 the son of Phyllis Washington and the late Troy Lucas Sr. of Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Akron North High School with the class of 2002. He attended First Apostolic Church. Troy enjoyed working with his hands either building or woodworking. He also enjoyed swimming and playing the guitar. Troy will always be remembered as having a caring, loving and gentle spirit, he loved all and was loved by all, and above all he was a devoted father.
He was preceded in death by his father, Troy A. Lucas Sr; maternal grandparents Clote and Floyd Tipton; and step-sister Adria Shropshire.
Troy is survived by his loving family, mother Phyllis (Lowell) Washington; step father Anthony Salter Sr.; paternal grandparents Dr. Barbara J. Lucas and Deacon Archie W. Lucas Jr.; children Troykell Lucas, Ava Lucas, and Ash Lucas; girlfriend Sandra Kender; siblings Troshaunda (Gerell) Elie, Anthony Salter Jr., and Austin Salter; step-siblings Shanel Shropshire, Taryn Mott, and Lavell Robinson; Aunts, DaMita (Earl) Walker and Teresa (Harry) Sias; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held May 2nd, Tuesday from 10:00am to 11:00am at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, 44305) where services will be held at 11:00am with Pastor Eugene Wilson officiating.
Interment will be held at Mt. Peace Cemetery.
