Valarie Delores Roan, "Val", age 86 of Brimfield, Ohio, died on May 24, 2023.
She was born on January 8, 1937 in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of the late Ernest Cox and Effie May Cox Arbethnot.
Val was a Deputy Sheriff in Portage County, retiring after 28 years of service.
Val was a loving and devoted wife of almost 70 years to Paul Edwin Roan, whom she married on June 20, 1953; her three sons, Terrance Lee (Kareen) Roan, Paul Vernon (Laura) Roan and Shawn Alan (Ann) Roan; her six grandchildren, Rachel Roan, Jonathan Roan, Kaitlyn Roan, Kristen (Derrick) Hale, Christopher Roan and James Roan.
Other than her parents, Valarie was preceded in death by her siblings, Judith New and Edward Stuper.
Per Val's wishes, there will not be any calling hours or services and her cremated remains will be placed in a columbarium at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
