Valerie L. Kohut, 69, passed away August 27, 2023 with her family by her side. Born in Akron, Ohio to Merle and Betty (Steinmetz) McDaniel, she was a lifelong area resident. Val enjoyed gardening, sitting on her porch and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Paul McDaniel, Cathy Wheeler, Jeff McDaniel; brother-in-law, Tom Kohut. Val will be sadly missed by her husband of 44 years, Tim; daughters, Allison Lewis, Angela (Craig) St. Jean; grandchildren, Liam, Iceis, Quinn; sisters-in-law, Judy McDaniel, Jean Kohut, Dianne Distel; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, September 22, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Val's name to the charity of their choice.
