Vanessa Alisa Joy

Vanessa Alisa Joy, age 66 of Barberton, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021. She was born on January 27, 1954, the daughter of the late Edward and Lula {Richardson} Houston.
In addition to her parents, Vanessa was preceded in death by her brother William Edward Houston and sister Defany Dorie Houston.
Vanessa's memory will live on in her daughters Alisa (Juan Jackson Sr.) and Anasia Joy; grandsons Juan Jackson Jr. and Javier Jackson; special sisters Alice, Maxine and Gail; sister-in-law Barbara; aunties Celeste and Denise; nieces Chalonda and Avril; nephew William; favorite fur babies Chico and Perry.
Vanessa graduated from cosmetology school while living in Akron. She loved sharing beauty tips with her family and friends, and in the late 80's took her talents to Okanawa, Japan when her family moved for a military obligation. Vanessa settled back in the States in Georgia for a few years, before migrating back to Ohio to spend time with her grandsons. She was a wonderful grandmother, attending games and ceremonies as their biggest cheerleader! Vanessa greatly enjoyed music and dancing, traveling, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
