Veleria B. Woodrum, 87, passed away peacefully at home December 10, 2024 with family by her side. Born in Cabin Creek, WV to Austin and Ethel (Hudnall) Johnson, she resided in the Wadsworth/Medina area all of her adult life. Veleria belonged to Kingdom Warrior Ministries and she enjoyed knitting, reading the Bible, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She also loved to send letters of encouragement to inmates all over the world, also care packages.
In addition to her parents, Veleria was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Woodrum; son-in-law, Dennis Coffee; several siblings. She will be sadly missed her children, Jim, Donald (Kelly), Lucky (Tammy), Ronnie (Naomi), Rex, Robin Coffee, Shelva (Ken) Holms; 15 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 12 to 1 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ronald G. Woodrum officiating. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth, OH. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Veleria's name to the charity of their choice.
