Vera L. Sheets, 71, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away January 24, 2013. Vera was born in Akron on December 6, 1941 to the late Harold and Kathaleen Hayes. Vera was happily married to Fred Sheets for 39 ½ years until his death in 2001. Throughout their life together, they enjoyed traveling and camping. In recent years, Vera loved to play bingo and go out to dinner with friends. She was a member of Family of Faith United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, Vera was preceded in death by her son, Robert. She will be deeply missed by her granddaughter, Kayla Sheets; sister, Mary (George) Williams; brother, Larry (Eleen) Hayes; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday January 27 from 3-5 p.m. and Monday January 28 from 12-1 followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Ron Schultz officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Family of Faith UMC, 800 E. Market St., Akron, 44305.
