Verlin "Slim" Weaver, 88, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 12, 2020. He was born in Jellico, TN and resided in Ohio for most of his life. Slim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He served the Lord for over 72 years ministering and traveling with his family, known as "The Singing Weavers," for 49 years. During this time he made many special friends. He was known for his special smile and gentle spirit.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Linda; children, Debbie (Roger) Taylor, Dennis (Chris) Weaver, Terri (Fred) Privett and Vickie (the late Barry) Creekmore; grandchildren, Jason (Becka), Ryan (Rachel), Ashley, Alyssia (Richard), Dakota, Shane (Carrie) and Michael; great-grandchildren, Emma, Hannah, Savannah, Abigail, Rylan, Rowan, Bennett, Rhen and Shay; and sisters, Vivian and Lola of Tennessee.
A public graveside service will be held at 11:45am on Thursday, July 16 at Atwater Cemetery on State Route 183.
