Verna Mae Arnott, 94, of Akron, passed away December 10, 2008. Born in Follansbee, West Virginia to the late Edward & Alma (White) Mulley. Verna had been a member of the Crossroads Bible Fellowship Church, Eastern Star Falls Chapter 249 and was a Toastmistress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh (Scotty) Arnott; first husband, Eugene S. Hartman; sister, Myrna Kay Markley,brother Gerald Bioux. Survived by her daughter, Ruth Arlene (Carl) Valcanoff; sons, Leonard (Lynda) and Ronald (Kay) Hartman; sister, Betty Stoaks; grandchildren, Michael, Carlene,( Matthew) Brent (Joy); great-grandchildren, Carissa, Christian, Luke, A.J. and Kara. Family and friends may call Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Bible Fellowship, 737 George Washington Blvd., Akron OH 44312.
