Verna Lee Sivo

Verna Lee Sivo, 90, passed away peacefully at home December 18, 2023. Born in Albion, IL to Everett and Violet (Goldman) Tait, she grew up in the Kenmore area of Akron and later resided in Brimfield Twp. after getting married. Verna enjoyed gardening, baking, camping, her dogs, country music (Alan Jackson), watching Little House on the Prairie and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Verna was preceded in death by her husband, John Sivo; brothers, Ronald Tait, Bernie Tait; sisters-in-law, Alice Tait, Elsie Varga. She will be sadly missed by her children, Becky (Don) Kopp, John J. Sivo, Debbie (David) Buckeye; grandsons, Aaron Kopp, Dan Kopp; her beloved dog, Princess.

Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will take place Thursday, December 28 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Verna's name to Hospice of the Western Reserve or their favorite animal charity organization.
