Vernita L. Luckett

Vernita L. Luckett 71, passed away peacefully May 5, 2022. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Varnandor and Hystine (Hamblin) Luckett. She had been a resident of Akron, Ohio for 42 years. She previously worked at R.C.A as well as City Cleaners. Vernita enjoyed playing softball, roller skating, playing the card game of Dad and spending time with family.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by brothers Clenter Edward Douglass, Russell Duane Luckett, sister Peggy Ann Smith, son Lamont Robert Luckett Thomas, grandson Fred H. Thomas IV (Maynard), and great grandson Lyndale Harrison Gayle.

Vernita will be sadly missed by her mother Hystine M. Luckett, children Fred III, Anthony and Shamanatee, siblings Michelle, Varnandor and Lizzett, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
