Vernon E. Troyer, Sr.

Vernon E. Troyer, Sr., 85, of Atwater, passed away October 19, 2012. He was born on June 26, 1927 to the late Eli and Fannie Troyer. He retired from Akron General Medical Center after 34 years of service. He was a member of Norton Full Gospel Fellowship, where he served as head deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Madeline; and sons, Larry and Vernon Jr. He will be deeply missed by his sons, Kenneth (Betty) and Rick (Janice); brothers, Levi and Paul (Gwynn); sister, Anna Mae Griffin; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Monday October 22 from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral services will be at 12 noon with visitation for one hour prior at Newcomer Funeral Home on Tuesday with Rev. Ivan Miller officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
