Vernon Kenneth Letzler, "Buddy", age 79 of Akron, Ohio, died on March 12, 2021 at Akron City Hospital.
He was born in Akron on October 8, 1941, the son of the late Vernon C. and Roberta (nee Johnson) Letzler.
Vernon was an honorably discharged US Air Force veteran serving during peacetime.
Buddy worked and retired from S. D. Myers Inc. after 30 plus years as maintenance personnel of electrical transformers.
Mr. Letzler enjoyed golfing, fishing, and watching TV while eating his popcorn. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, the former Audrey Duffy, whom he married on July 22, 1972; his children, Patricia "Patti" Barb, Cheryl Black and Mark King; his grandchildren, David (Vanessa) Barb, Shane Black, Andrew Black, Mark Hibbs and Sarah Black; and his great-grandchildren, Kensley and Rowan Barb.
His sisters also survive, Donna Devine and Roberta "Bobbie" Salsburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Per Buddy's wishes, he will be cremated and there will not be any calling hours or services.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
