Vic Desure

Victor DeSure, 81, was called home to be with the Lord on February 15, 2021. He was born in Akron, OH on July 19, 1939 to late parents Max and Roberta DeSure. Vic was a longtime member of E. Market St. and New Horizons Christian Church since 1965 and retired after 26 years of service from Preferred Rubber Compounding. He was a proud veteran of the US Army.

In addition to his parents, Vic was preceded in death by his older sister, Delores Lewis, and infant sister, Harriet. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Fran; daughter, Ruth (Scott); grandchildren, Roberta (George), Elizabeth and Lee (Alissa); great-grandchildren, Cara, Lexi, Angelina, Billy, Chloe, Sophia, Sean, Haileigh and Savana; brother, Paul; sisters-in-law, Eddie Kay (Bob) and Dodie (Leonard); and many nieces, nephews and special extended family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22 from 5-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. in Akron.

Funeral service will take place at 12pm on Tuesday, February 23 at New Horizons Christian Church, 290 Darrow Rd. in Akron, with visitation at the church from 11am-12pm. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Vic's memory to New Horizons Christian Church or VFW Post 3383, 690 W.
