Vincent Thomas Rapini, age 87, long-time owner and proprietor of the Normandie Café on Eastwood Ave., Akron, Ohio passed away at home early in the morning on November 25, 2017.
He was a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art and Kent State; he was also a Teacher of art at Akron's Kenmore High School, and he was a Sign Painter.
Vince was an Avid Fisherman, Gifted Wood Carver, Talented Painter, Voracious Gardener, Skilled Wood Worker, accomplished Cook, but alas not a great plumber.
He loved to share from his bountiful garden and passion for food, never letting you leave his home empty handed.
Vince is survived by his wife of 64 years Joann. Sister, Mary Angela Miller (Richard); sons, Ronald Rapini (Mary Jo), Tom Rapini (Valerie), Kenneth Rapini (Becky), and David Rapini (Julia); grandchildren Brianna, Sarina, Joren, Logan, Ryan, Alicia, and grand-dogs Rafina, and Bacon.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Mr. Rapini will be laid to rest on Friday at 12:00 noon at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron.
