Viola F. Pritchard

Viola F. Pritchard, 96, of Akron, passed from this life in the peaceful arms of our Lord and joined her husband Samuel on February 24, 2009. Viola was born June 1, 1912 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Garfield High School. Viola was a life member of Ernest Angley's Grace Cathedral where she served as a choir mother. She volunteered for 50 years for the Board of Elections. Viola's travels gave us many happy stories and tales of humor and oh, what stories. We love you and will miss you, Mom. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; daughter, Tanya Donohew; and sister, Nell Geiger. She is survived by her children, Samuel (Brenda) Pritchard of Uniontown, Norman (Patricia) Pritchard of Pennsylvania, Denise (David) Laird of Akron, and Cheryl (Hal) Anderson of Lancaster, OH; sister, Ruth Steel of Florida; eleven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Summa and the many friends for their thoughts and prayers. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m., Rev. Robert Hoffman officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Following burial, a wake will be held at the Mogadore Moose, 4095 Mogadore Rd.
