Violet I Christy

Violet I. Christy, 103, of Akron, passed away on March 11, 2025. She was born on November 16, 1921 to Joseph and Nellie Karn and resided her entire life in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from East High School and attended Hammel Business College. Violet was a woman of great faith and was a member of New Horizons Christian Church where she served as a deaconess and a Sunday School teacher in earlier years. She volunteered at Good neighbors Food Shelter for 34 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Harold and George Stinard; niece Bonnie Church; and beloved husband of 68 years, Raymond Christy.

Violet is survived by her loving family, sons John (Judy) Christy and David (Ann) Christy; granddaughters Leigh and Cheryl; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm, Wednesday, March 19th at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 1:00pm.

PRIVATE Interment Services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park.
