Violet Jean Garrett

Violet Jean Garrett, 94, went home to be with the Lord on April 30, 2018. She was born in Wadsworth, OH on April 12, 1924 to late parents Harold and Marie Monbarren. Jean was the focal point of the family, loved her kids and grandkids, enjoyed taking many family vacations to the beach, and was a good cook. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Luetta and Helen; brothers, Chuck, Wayne and Clyde. Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, William "Bill" Garrett; children, Ed (Debbie) Garrett, Debbie (James) Zupancic and Rodney Garrett; grandchildren, Jason, Tiffany and Kevin Garrett, Mike (Michelle), Brent and Josh Zupancic; great-grandchildren, Abby, Ally, Adam, Isabelle, Alexis, Zachary; and canine companion Cocoa.

Visitation will be held from 10am - 1pm on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service will begin at 1pm. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron to follow.
