Violet R. (Alexander) Griffin, age 66, passed away August 15, 2008.
She was born June 22, 1942 in Roane County, WV. She resided in Kent for the past 20 years and was a resident of Ohio since 1961. Violet retired from the dry cleaning business after 26 years amd also worked as a printer at St. Thomas Hospital.
She was a 1961 graduate of Calhoun County High School, Grantsville, WV and was a member of the alumni association.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Howard Alexander and Edith Smith Rogers, a sister, Imogene and a brother, Howard Alexander Jr. She is survived by one sister, Mary Hull, Streetsboro, OH; two half sisters, Ruby Ellison, Spencer, WV and Judy Hanlon, Palm Harbor, FL; nieces, Pamela Somerville, Reyna Alexander, Pamela Cagle and two nephews, Marvin Gene Alexander and Richard Tanner.
Violet had a great passion for helping others and was an avid bowler. She was of the Methodist faith. The family would like to thank Hospice of VNS for all the care given to Violet. Per Violet's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
