Violet W. Funk, 90, of Akron, passed away November 10, 2010. Violet was born June 17, 1920 in Akron to the late Samuel Earl and Edith Funk. She was a longtime employee for the Summit County Probate Court and a part-time employee for the Board of Elections. In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her brother, Earl S. Funk. She will be deeply missed by her cousins, June McDermott and Bill Cowperthwaite and good friend, Mary Lou Dodson. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Wyant Woods Nursing Home. Visitation will be Friday from 10-11 followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Kim Lawrence officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
