Virginia C. Payne, 63, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 17, 2001. Virginia was a longtime member of Lake Anna Bible Church in Barberton. She enjoyed all outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing. She will be remembered for her great love of people. Virginia was preceded in death by her son, Donald Payne, Jr.; brother, Robert Johnson; sister, Marjorie K. Johnson; son-in-law, Roger LaTampa. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald E. Payne; daughters, Cindy (Dale) Smith of FL, Brenda (Donald) Shackelford of SC, and Karla (James) Robison of Akron; sister, Pat (Ronnie) Hart of Akron; brother, Bill Johnson of Akron; sister-in-law, Lois Johnson of Akron; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Friends and family may call on Friday, October 19th from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 20th at Lake Anna Bible Church 375 E. Tuscarawas Avenue, Barbarton. At 11:00a.m. with Rev. Dr. Steve Eremich officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care Center/VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH, 44333.
