Virginia D. Smith

Virginia D. Smith, age 97, of Uniontown, Ohio passed from this world entering her eternal home and into the arms of her Lord and Savior on December 11, 2024 hearing the worship of angels on high!

Born in the small town of Frank, Virginia, she was the second child to Harry and Eunice Eagle, brother James Eagle. Upon graduating from Monterey High School, Virginia worked in Washington D.C. before moving to Akron with her family; she married “Joe” Lester R. Smith who preceded her in death after 43 years together. She retired from Firestone and quickly found herself working at First Merit Bank until she was 93!! During these years, Virginia found joy being with family and friends, traveling, doing crossword puzzles, reading, visits from the family pets, and shopping to name just a few. Her faith, prayers, and written words of encouragement were paramount in her life and her church family throughout life was a place of commitment, growth, and refuge!

Virginia’s deepest love and prayers were for her remaining family, her daughter, Lee Anne Marshall; three grandchildren, Sarah (Luke) Marshall, Joshua (Lynn) Marshall, and Philip (Kanami) Marshall; six great grandchildren, Fayelor, Eliza, Joanna, Tilly, Jaxden, and Sumi.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at MissionView Church in North Canton. Her service will begin at 11:00 a.m., the doors open at 10:30 a.m.
