Virginia Geraldine Long

Virginia Geraldine (Poland) Long, 90, transitioned into her heavenly home Sunday, January 24, 2016. She was born June 12, 1925 in Byesville, Ohio to Carl and Ava Poland. Virginia was an avid reader who enjoyed reading The Bible, historical novels. She also enjoyed taking long walks and doing word search puzzles. Virginia's greatest joy in life was that her children walked in the truth of the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, Everett Long; parents, Carl and Ava Poland; son, Elvin Long; sister, Jean; brothers, Delbert and Harry and great grandson, Keith Watson III.

Virginia is survived by her children, Ken (Donna) Long, Linda Kallergis both of Akron; Terry (Brenda) Long of Albuquerque N.M.; Diana Long of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 9 nieces and nephews and special friend Julene Bogovich, who will all miss her dearly.

Family will receive guests Friday, January 29, 2016 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH with Funeral Services beginning at 12 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Don Rohrbacher. Interment will follow at Lakewood Cemetery.
