Virginia Ellen Harris

Virginia Ellen "Jenny" Harris, 78, passed away on August 14, 2024, in Akron, Ohio, the city where she was born on August 5, 1946. A lifelong resident of Akron, Jenny retired from Goodyear after many years of service.

Jenny was a member of Millheim Baptist Church, where she found great solace and community. Her faith was evident in every aspect of her life as she lived out her beliefs through acts of love, patience, kindness, and gentleness. She was a beacon of light and support, often described as the best mom, a best friend, a cherished grandmother, a loving sister, a favorite aunt, and the first person family and friends would call in times of joy and sorrow.

Her hobbies included sitting on her swing studying scripture, reading, crocheting, making ceramics for her loved ones, and cooking and baking. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and loved the ocean, which brought her great peace.

Jenny is preceded in death by her parents, Stuart and Gladys, and her brother, Russell. She is survived by her brothers, James and wife Janet, and Robert and wife Marilyn; her daughter, Tami Sanders; her son, Scott Cross; granddaughters, Anna, and Kylie; nieces Nichole and husband Chris, Heather, and Martha; and nephews Matthew and wife Kim, Adam and Michael, all of whom will miss her dearly.

A service to celebrate Jenny's life will be held at Millheim Baptist Church on Saturday, August 24, 2024, with visitation starting at 10:00 am. and the funeral service starting at 12:00. Arrangements are under the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio. Jenny's life and legacy will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew her.
