Virginia A. Hopper, "Ginny" 93, of Akron, passed away October 30, 2017. She was born to the late Harmon and Myrtle Malone on June 12, 1924. Ginny was employed by Quikey Manufacturing Company for 61 years and Goodyear during WWII. She was a member of Amaranth, White Shrine Billow Chapter, Eastern Star, Ladies of the Moose and Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church. Ginny loved shopping and watching the Cavs, Indians, Ohio State football and golf. She was a beautiful woman filled with love and generosity for her family. She was dedicated to her life's work and instilled a strong work ethic in her family, she truly led by example.
In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; brothers, Gene and Lowell; sister, Bea, and her sweetie, Bud.
She will be dearly missed by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Randy Diamond; grandchildren, Nikki (Ed) Leverett, Erik (Jessica) Staeger, and Josh Diamond (Jessica); GiGi's great-grandchildren, Addison, Ryland, and Trentan. Also, her loving sisters, Mona Crace, Barbara Mullin, Kay Ruth; sister-in-law, Loretta Raiter, many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where an Amaranth Service will be presented at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 1:30 pm also at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park.
