Virginia Mae Kerr, 97, went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2005. She had previously resided in Winter Beach, Florida for well over 30 years. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Amanda Griffith; her husband, the late George Kerr; her oldest son, Eugene Barkman; and grandson, Bobby. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Melton of Akron; sons, Donald Overholt (Naomi) of Mansfield, Thomas Baker (Julie) of New Matamorris, and Delmore Baker (Rose) of Stow. She also leaves her grandchildren: Eugene's children are Sandra, Glenn, David, Cindy, Connie, Joyce, Sharon and Pam; Frances' children are Larry, Alice and Rickey; Donald's children are Donald Jr., Wayne, Jeanette, Marty, Marlin and Mark; Thomas' children are Linnell, Lisa, Thomas S. and step-sons, Jack and Mark; Delmore's children are Danny, Diane, Lorene and Rodney; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will surely be missed. There will be no calling hours, only a Graveside service to be held in the early afternoon on Friday, August 12th, 2005 at East Liberty Cemetery beginning at 1:00 p.m. The cemetery is located on the south side of East Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (619), just west of South Arlington Road.
