Virginia Rose Lindesmith

Virginia Rose Lindesmith, age 85 of Akron, Ohio, died on June 28, 2018 at 2:50 PM at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on April 1, 1933 in Newell, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Carmen and Alice (nee McElroy) Laneve.
Virginia was a retired registered nurse after 40 years of service at Akron General Medical Center in 1995, where she was known for her infectious laugh. She enjoyed crocheting, flowers, shopping, and loved the DQ, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Lindesmith was a very devout and active member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Akron.
Survivors include her five boys, John (Karen), Brian, Craig (Traci), Kevin (Carole), and Christopher; her grandchildren, Ashley, Jason (Kari), Mathew, Dalton, Shelbi, Clark, Carson, Alexandra, Aubrey, and Liam; and several great-grandchildren. Her siblings also survive, Paul (Jenny) Laneve, Nancy (Charlie) Gale, and Kay (Don) Closter.
Other than her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, John A. Lindesmith on April 8, 2013, they were united in marriage on December 3, 1955; and several siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Father Mike Williamson will celebrate Virginia's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.
There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Akron at a later date.
