Virginia Lynn Martin ("Ginny Lynn") age 69, originally from Bath, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 29, 2023, in Akron, Ohio.
Born March 23, 1954, in Akron, Ms. Martin (nee Wilson) attended Revere High School, (Class of 1972), winning various local awards and ribbons for her expertise showing her Greater Swiss Mountain dogs and personal horses.
Graduating from the University of Akron with a Master's Degree in Special Education, Ms. Martin taught in both the City of Akron and later as a substitute teacher at Shenandoah High School in Sarahsville, Ohio, residing with her daughter, 'Gen', on her small boutique farm minutes south of Cambridge, Ohio.
Along with her prized horses, Val and Bree, Virginia was a devoted TV fan of Downtown Abbey and Project Runway, as well as, The Great British Baking Show.
Virginia leaves behind her two sons, James and Andrew, as well as, her beautiful namesake daughter, Virginia Anne Martin ('Gen') and family friend, David Keller.
"Ginny Lynn" will be most fondly remembered not only for her avid interest in painting, printmaking, reading, sewing and cooking, but for her constant acts of selfless kindness she extended toward others, the rarest gift of all.

There will be a memorial service on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305, where Pastor Joel Cochran will celebrate Virginia's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM.
