Virginia Merrill

Virginia (Ginny) Merrill, 97, died on August 9, 2021. She was born on January 9, 1924 in Pine Grove, Pennsylvania and graduated from Pine Grove High School in 1942. She was employed at Middletown, PA Air Force Base through World War II, where she met and married Glen E. Merrill. After the war, they moved to Akron and started their family.
Ginny was preceded in death by her husband Glen and her son, Dana.
She is survived by her son and caregiver, Darrin of Akron and son, David and companion Georgia of Tennessee; sister, Fern Brown of Pine Grove, PA. She also leaves three granddaughters, as well as many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Seventy years is all we have - eighty years if we are strong - yet all they bring us is trouble and sorrow. Psalm 90:10
So I have been blessed with extra years and my appropriate share of trouble and sorrow but all in all the Lord has been good to me.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 10-11:30 followed by an 11:30 a.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
