Virginia R. Cooper, 76, of Akron, passed away February 20, 2008 at Akron General Medical Center. She was born January 6, 1932 in Florence, Alabama to the late William & Myrtle (Creasy) Christian. Virginia loved her family above all else. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, David W. Cooper. She is survived by her daughters, Glenda (Jerry) Banyar, Pamela (Scott) Behrend and Beth (Kenny) Mulhollen; sons, Steven and Timothy Cooper; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Mamie Campbell. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m., Saturday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron with Rev. Scott Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service begins.
