Virginia "Ginny" Lee {Ramsburg} Sappington, of Akron, lost her struggle with heart disease and kidney disease on August 4, 2022, after extended stay in Akron General Hospital. She was born on December 16, 1962 in Frederick, MD to Clara {Tobery} Goff and the late Richard "Buck" L. Ramsburg Sr.
In addition to her father, Ginny is preceded in death by former husband Frances Coale Sappington Jr., brother Richard "Rick" L. Ramsburg and her stepfather Joseph H. Goff.
Ginny is survived by her mother, Clara Tobery Ramsburg Goff; two sisters Grace (Dennis) Goff of Akron, OH and Michelle (Robert) Moore of Knoxville, MD; three brothers James "Rock" (Diane) Ramsburg, Robert "Bert" (Nina) Ramsburg, and Frank Goff, all of PA.
Although she didn't have children of her own, Ginny helped raise the sons of a dear friend, and loved them as if they were hers: Jason Ingalls and David Ingalls. David's family includes David Ingalls Jr., Caleb, Lilly, Alanna, and Connor Ingalls.
Most of Ginny's work experience was working as a cashier in the retail industry.
She enjoyed needlepoint, reading, cake decorating, bingo, and crafts of any kind. Ginny also loved cats, Elvis Presley and old movies. You could ask her the name of any character in a movie, and she could tell you the actor that portrayed them.
Ginny hated the movie "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Clause," since her mom would call her just to tease her about it.
At Ginny's request, there will be no viewing or funeral, and she wishes to be cremated. No memorial service is planned at this time. To leave a message for Ginny's family, please scroll below.
