Virginia R. Shuster

Virginia R. Shuster, 93, passed away September 20, 2020 at home with family by her side. Born in Akron, Ohio to Cecil and Nellie (Crites) Brooks, she was a lifelong area resident. Virginia retired from the J. C. Penney (Lakemore Plaza store) after 25 years of service. She enjoyed crafting, painting, gardening, canning and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Don, John and Cecil Brooks. She will be sadly missed by her husband of almost 75 years, Harold; children, Sharon (Pete) Burdzel, Brian Shuster, Tim (Pam) Shuster, Susan (Ron) Moore; 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; sisters; Annabelle Barker, Betty Davis, Donna Westfall; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, September 25, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Virginia's name to the charity of their choice. Due to Covid 19 concerns please expect to wear masks and practice social distancing.
