Virginia Joan Smith, 78, of Barberton, formerly of Rootstown, passed away on April 9, 2021. She was born in Akron on November 7, 1942 to the late Wilbur and Evelyn Farrell. Throughout her life, Virginia worked as a LPN, as a floral designer, and at the Ohio Turnpike at Sunoco. Virginia was very artistic and made beautiful wreaths and artificial flower arrangements. She loved traveling to Mountaineer for gambling trips and relaxing at her camper at Cutty's Campground. She was a kindhearted person and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Smith; and brothers, Wilbur and Jerry. She is survived by her son, Charles Smith Jr.; brother, Darrell (Betty); sister, Dolores; sister-in-law, Sharon; stepgrandchildren, John, Tina, and Frances; many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. She also leaves many friends including best friend, Gail and caregiver, Donna. She also leaves her beloved cat, Ling Ling.
Per Virginia's wishes, cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest at Charlestown Cemetery.
