Voyt D. Hancock (Hank)
Voyt D. Hancock (Hank), 81 of Springfield Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends after a long battle with heart problems. Voyt was born in Cullman, AL to the late Ada and Robert Hancock on June 16, 1925. Hank is preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters and 12 half brothers and sisters. He is survived by loving wife of 55 years Bernice I. Hancock (Chesser), sons; Kenneth R. Hancock and Gregory L. Hancock; grandchildren Kenneth S. Hancock, Krista and Michael Hancock and twins Ryan and Ridge Hancock; sister Jean Dunn and David Robert (D.R.) Hancock; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Raymond G. Chesser and sister-in-law Bernice (Childers) Chesser of Cullman,Al. Hank was a loving husband and father. He had a very strong faith in the Lord. He was a member of Southeast Church of Christ and was a song leader. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace in 1987 after 35 years of service. He loved being a machinist. Hank loved fishing, hunting and gospel music . He was a kind and loving friend to everyone he knew and will be dearly missed. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Vernon Teagarden officiating.
