Virginia Lee Elrod, "Ginney", age 74 of Mogadore, Ohio, died on December 26, 2021 at her home.
She was born on March 13, 1947 in Akron, the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Margaret (nee Mercer) Ebner.
Survivors include her loving husband, Roger F. Elrod, whom she married on June 26, 1975; her children, Tim (Koey) Elrod, Rebecca Elrod, Nanette (Michael) Akers, Diana (Ron) Dowdy and Lisa Marie Provchy; her 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Ginney is also survived by her siblings, Mary (Jim) Cordier, Patty Housley and Tom (Fely) Ebner; her husband's siblings, Lynda Rollence and Dennis Elrod; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that mourn her loss.
Other than her parents, Virginia is preceded by her husband's brother, Frank Elrod.
Ginney graduated from Mogadore High School, class of 1965 and she attended the University of Akron, taking psychology and business classes. She worked in the banking industry for many years at Centran/Society Bank. In her later years she worked at the Board of Elections in Blue Ridge, Georgia, where she and her husband lived.
Ginney was a member of the Williamstown Methodist Church in Georgia. She was very active in Vacation Bible School and was treasurer of the church. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, cooking and dancing, she met her husband at a dance.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of your choice.
There will not be any services or calling hours and all arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
