Wallace B. Davis, Jr.
Wallace B. Davis, Jr., 81, passed away August 10, 2009 at Briarwood Nursing Home. He was born September 15, 1927 in Akron, Ohio to the late Wallace B. & Annabelle (Larimore) Davis, Sr. Wallace served in the U. S. Army from 1945 - 1948 and later retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. He was an avid fisherman and coin hunter with his metal detector. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sylvia Davis; brothers, Ted and Edward Davis; sisters, Shirley Baldwin, Sandra Roos and Jackie Hummel; granddaughter, Sabrina Meredith. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Wilda R. (Mishler) Davis; daughters, Karen Meredith and Joy (Ron) Yoho; sons, William B. (Mariko) Davis and Larry Davis; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Warner; and brother, Ray Davis. Funeral services will be conducted at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron on Friday beginning at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM Friday until the service begins. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
