Wallace C. Speegle
Wallace C. Speegle, 83, of Springfield Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 17, 2010. Wallace was born January 7, 1927 in Cullman, Alabama. He was a WWII Vet serving in the Pacific and was part of the occupation force of Japan in the cities of Kobe and Nagasaki. He moved his family to Akron in 1951 and retired from Meyers Industries after 43 years. Preceeded in death by his parents Edward and Florence; son, Cecil and daughter, Benedetta Waller. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Donna; sons, Jeffrey, Joseph, Nick (Marcia) and Mark Mitchell; daughters, Barbara (Bill) Elliott, Sherry (Eric) Bodner, and Racheal (Tim) Koeneman; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; brother, Don of East Wenatchee, Washington; sister, Vonie Seal (Doc) Aaron of Hanceville, Alabama. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where a funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Chuck Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
