Wallace L. Cottrill
Wallace L. Cottrill, 83, of Akron, passed away September 22, 2013. He was born in Elmira, West Virginia on June 4, 1930 to the late Henry and Opal Cottrill. Wallace proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later retired from PPG after 38 years of service. He was a longtime member and deacon at Millheim Baptist Church. In his free time, Wallace was an enthusiastic gardener and landscaper.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Cottrill; brothers, Dolan and Darius Cottrill; and brother-in-law, Buck Simmons. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mark Braucher; grandchildren, Jarrod and Andrea Braucher; sisters, Celistia Simmons and Esther (Jim) Wilson; many special nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday September 26 from 11-1 followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service with Rev. Kim Lawrence officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
